Once you've decided on a car, you should see if they have a club locally and see if they have a for sale section.

Ah this is true!! i bought a 1997 golf cl. I was getting impatient and bought this first good deal i found, its got 156xxxkm, timing belt was done 30000k ago, clutch was done 20000k ago, came with some rims on it to which is nice i suppose, as well as an extra set of snowys. power locks/sunroof. new stereo/speakers.. i paid 2500 bucks. Its not that great of a car, it has NO balls, but i just want it to put around in for the next few months. 40 bucks to fill up an almost 600k to a tank! haha

Subaru sounds like a good choice. Good in every condition except maybe reallllly deep snow. I like that they advertise 2 sets of tires.

DO IT.

For my second car I'm seriously looking at getting something similar. Good in most weather conditions and fun to drive. Plus if I wreck it in autox it'll only cost me (in this case) $6000 instead of whatever the Jetta's worth (at least double).

Subarus are some of the most versatile cars... if you don't mind the looks (they've grown on me)

the only reason people pay a lot of money for a RHD is because it had to get shipped here sometime... rhd means an extra bonus baller points to:p . that all you got to say socky?

Imagine doing a left-hand turn with a right hand drive. You can't see what's coming... can be pretty dangerous depending on the intersection.

I didn't even think of the drive through thing, that's another good point.
