Well, it's looking like just me and Riley are going, but here's an announcement about preregistration:
http://www.bethblog.com/2013/04/10/quake...pril-15th/

I think we should get the QuakeCon Done Quick one for $50. Apparently the lineup to get into the BYOC will take you most of a day to get through.

People go on vacation across continents all the time. The only difference here is that it's a lan/convention and not some touristy stuff.

So we decided to skip out on the BYOC and just do the convention stuff/watch the tournament. We both realized that we really weren't interested in that part of it. The most I would do is LAN Quake Live for a couple hours.

If we change our minds and there are still seats for it, getting into the BYOC at the event is something we can still do.

So a lot of the stuff is sold out now.

Me and Riley are signed up for general attendance (free), and a swag pack for $60 which includes three t-shirts and a mouse.

Well, in less than a week it's happening. I'm hoping that even though we're skipping out on the BYOC that I might still get to play a few rounds of Quake.

Stuff:

http://www.quakecon.org/2013/07/new-quakecon-details/
http://www.quakecon.org/2013/07/somethin...on-trials/

and:

“The Physics of Light and Rendering”
http://www.quakecon.org/2013/07/double-t...knowledge/
which apparently is "not for the technically faint at heart," so sounds just right for me.
